The participant had experienced a traumatic vehicle incident while on holiday in a snowy area. This incident had a lasting impact on the participant, making them hesitant to discuss the event. Through a series of counselling sessions, the participant engaged in virtual exposure therapy using interactive platforms.
The participant and therapist explored snowy areas on the digital environments map, gradually increasing exposure to the environment. 
This process helped desensitize the participant to the traumatic experience.

In a recent session, the participant played a separate interactive environment set in snowy mountains. The participant demonstrated an understanding of their own desensitization process, recognizing how their experiences in interactive platform had helped them cope with their trauma.
This case study highlights the potential benefits of using virtual exposure therapy in a digital context to address trauma. By leveraging the participant’s interest in interactive platform, we were able to create a safe and controlled environment for them to confront and process their traumatic experience. The participant’s progress suggests that this approach may be a valuable tool in trauma recovery.
