Training for Carers and Parents
Skills, insight and support for the people who support others
Caring for another person, whether a child, a partner, a family member or a client, takes energy, patience and skill. Minds Support Network delivers training and workshops designed for the people doing that work, so they have the tools, language and understanding to keep offering meaningful support without running themselves down.
What Our Training Covers
Depending on the workshop, training may include emotional regulation and co-regulation, communication approaches that support connection, sensory considerations, managing your own capacity as a carer, and practical strategies for common day-to-day situations. Each program is developed and delivered by qualified members of our team.
Formats Available
Training is delivered online, either as one-off workshops or as multi-session programs. Sessions may be one-to-one, small group, or larger group, depending on the topic and the audience. Bespoke training for organisations and support teams is also available on request.
Who This May Suit
Parents, guardians, family members, foster carers, support workers, teachers and anyone in a supportive role. Some workshops are aimed at people supporting children specifically, others at people supporting adults, and some are relevant across age groups.
What Carers Often Take Away
- Practical strategies they can use immediately
- Better ways to respond to challenging situations

Onboarding, Assessments, Recommendations, and Additional Service costs
Our team takes time to review your information and complete an Initial Therapy Assessment and Recommendation. This helps us ensure your therapy plan is built around your needs and goals. This also may include a brief call with a member of our team. The assessment is charged at $156.16 (AUD).
From time to time, we may also complete a review assessment to check that your goals and plan are still relevant. These are charged at the hourly rate of the type of therapist conducting the assessment.
Our session fees cover your therapy, reasonable work, coordination and correspondence. Where these duties go beyond this time, additional charges may apply. This includes things outside of session such as clinical questions, calls, plan-changes, and repeated coordination requests for example. You will be informed when an additional charge will take place. Full details are set out in our Additional Services Policy and our Schedule of Fees.

Session Times
Sessions run any day, time and duration of your choosing. Simply let us know in the registration form.
No long term commitment
If you wish to cancel at any time, let us know 48 hours before the next scheduled session. (All Group or Weekend Programs require 2 weeks cancellation notice.)
Program of Support for Group Sessions
Groups and Weekend Programs are delivered under a Program of Support (PoS).
This helps us provide stable, consistent group experiences while factoring in planning, therapist time, group structure, and outcomes more effectively, while giving families peace of mind around costs and scheduling.
Even if a participant misses a session, they will still be charged for the session supporting continuity, structure, and engagement for everyone involved. Read more about a PoS.
Set-up, Technical Issues & Reporting
Online platforms require occasional setup. Internet dropouts or technical issues may also occur. Our therapist takes notes during sessions, which is factored into the session duration. A small portion of each session will be spent on these necessary activities.
